Every 2 years unique begonia flower carpet cover the world’s most beautiful central square. Nearly one million of begonias are used to make the carpet with dimensions of 77 m x 24 m and about 120 volunteers are working on it.
Even unfinished, it becomes clear Flower carpet 2016 will have a very different look.
The reason is that in 2016 it is 150 years anniversary of diplomatic relations and friendship between Belgium and Japan. That’s why the 20th edition of Flower Carpet in Brussels will have Japanese features.
